Can anyone truly know for certain that they will spend eternity in Heaven?
The answer to that question is, Yes!
Do you have questions about the fate of your soul that nag at the back of your mind? What happens when I die? Is there life after death? Where will I spend eternity? The most important question you will ever answer is, "If I were to die today, would I spend eternity in Heaven with God?" Your relationship with Jesus Christ determines the answer to that question.
You Can Be Sure!
The Bible tells us in 1 John 5:13, "These things have I written unto that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…" God wants you to know for certain where you will spend eternity.
You Must Realize Your Need For a Personal Saviour.
The Bible teaches us that we have a personal problem called sin. Your sins have separated you from God. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 This simply means that none of us is perfect. You have to realize that you are not, and cannot be perfect or good enough to please God on your own.
God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For.
As a created being of God, these imperfections, our sins, have a certain result. “For the wages of sin is death....” Romans 6:23 Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell; separation from God forever. If we continue in our sin, we shall die without Christ and be without God forever. None of us can make it to Heaven alone!
The Good News Is That Christ Paid For Our Sins!
The rest of Romans 6:23 says, "…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." All of our sins were laid on Christ on the cross. He paid for all of our sins. He took your blame! He took the punishment for your imperfections. What an awesome gift!
Understand That Christ Died Because God Loves You!
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 God loves you and has a plan for your life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 In His great love for you, God sacrificed His only Son, The Lord Jesus Christ on the cross that your sins might be forgiven and you might live forevermore.
You Must Personally Pray And Receive Christ By Faith.
The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 And in John 1:12, speaking again of Christ, it says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." God's message to you is that if you'll just believe on His Son, receive Him as your Saviour, and ask for forgiveness of your sins, God will make you one of His children. The blessed promise of God is that if you'll ask in simple faith, eternal life is yours. If that is your desire today, you could stop right now and sincerely pray something like this;
Lord, I believe that You died for my sin and rose again from the dead. I know that I am a sinner. I ask you now to forgive my sin, come into my life and be my personal Savior. I place my full trust in You alone and ask you to help me live for you from this day forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
No More Nagging Questions!
If you called upon Christ sincerely from your heart to save you, you can rest in the promise of Romans 10:13 above that God has saved you! And as promised in John 1:12, you are now a child of God! Now you can have rest in the knowledge that your eternal destiny is settled in Heaven.
